This magical place is located in Manhattan’s Chelsea district and is the brainchild of New York native and hair stylist to the stars, Miguel Lopez.  This seasoned industry veteran has been sharing his craft with the world from his salon suite inside Salons by JC- Manhattan since the location first opened nearly two years ago. Building your brand

For as long as Miguel can remember, he knew that he wanted to work in the beauty industry. While still a student in high school, he decided to gain an early start in this industry by simultaneously attending beauty school. Once Miguel completed his certification, he quickly earned a position at a salon where he polished his craft, established his own identity, and learned the ins and outs of operating a salon from a business perspective.

Shortly after, Miguel decided to try his out his hand at being an entrepreneur and open his own space.

“I wanted to have my own business because I wanted to have more control over the entire client experience,” says Miguel. In his space, Miguel’s attention to detail is reflected throughout, from the products used to the choice of staff performing services.

His work with high-end color and styling, human hair extensions (one of the first salons in NYC to use Hairdreams ) and Japanese straightening have earned him prestige in various publications throughout his 20 years in the beauty industry.

For Miguel, the goal has always been to provide the best experience for every client from the moment they walk-in to well after they have gone home.

Great Hair Doesn’t Happen by Chance, it Happens by Appointment

What makes Miguel’s salon suite an ideal place for his high profile clients? According to Miguel, Salons by JC  provides the perfect combination of VIP aesthetic and the privacy of his own space. While Miguel and his team have worked with various celebrity clients, from news reporters to Broadway stars, they maintain a comfortable discrete workspace.

“It’s the intimacy that makes it better,” Miguel shares. “None of these clients want to be stared at by twenty other people during their session. Every one of my clients should feel like they’re the only person holding my attention while we’re together because they are always my main focus.”

With a demographic of high end to upper-middle-class women who are often on a tight schedule and still managing to get work done while receiving services, it is important to respect their time and manage it efficiently.  And always making sure that no part of the experience is anything less than VIP.

Beauty Comes from the Within… the Salon

Miguel first visited the Salons by JC when the location was still an empty construction zone. Even in those early stages, he could see the potential for the space and how it would make a good home base for his business.

Even now, Miguel’s love for the Salons by JC community is evident. He fondly refers to other suite members and the Manhattan core team as “attentive” and “helpful” and the space as “peaceful” and “beautiful.”

Miguel plans to have his business move forward and grow with Salons by JC. “I love it here,” Miguel shares. “We plan on being here just as long as Salons by JC is here. We look forward to growing and expanding our clients so we can continue to spread the beauty and positivity.”

Miguel says that he plans on learning additional techniques and improving every day, just like the space he inhabits “The Salons by JC team always knows what their suite owners need and how to help them reach their fullest potential.”
