Spice up your suite with these decor tips

Jan 10, 2019

It’s a new year, which means you’re probably itching for a suite makeover.  Or maybe you’re opening your business with Salons by JC for the first time.  Either way, we’ve got some great tips on how to keep costs down but still have your suite lookin’ swanky!

Here are our top 5 suite decor tips:

Decide on a theme

In order to make a strong statement about you and your brand, decide on a theme.  Are you a glam girl, shabby chic, mid-century modern, vintage, minimalist, boho, industrial, zen, rustic?  If you’re not sure, find or create a piece of art that you love and design around that.

Measure and make a plan

Having a functional space to run your business in is very important, so measuring and planning is key.  Don’t forget to utilize your walls for shelving and extra cabinetry to ensure you maintain enough floor space to move around freely in your suite.

Furniture updates

There are lots of ways to save money when it comes to furniture.  You would be surprised at what you can find on Craigslist, Facebook Marketplace, or garage and estate sales.  Even if it’s not exactly what you’re looking for, things can always be painted or reupholstered to fit your décor vibe.  That being said, you can keep your current furniture and simply paint or reupholster it for a new look without spending money on a whole new piece!  And don’t forget places like Home Goods, Marshall’s and Ross to find name brand pieces for a fraction of the cost.

Décor updates

Pretty much everything mentioned in “Furniture updates” applies here.  From painting to second-hand sales to discount stores, the sky is the limit.  Not to mention you can make your own!  There are so many great ideas on Pinterest and easy “how to” videos on YouTube.  Oh, and don’t forget throw pillows.  Switching those out can also be a game-changer.

Paint and faux wallpaper

Last but certainly not least, change up those walls.  Pick a new paint color for your whole suite, or just pick one wall as an accent wall to add a new color to.  Another fun idea with a ton of options is faux wallpaper.  You can find this just about anywhere now including Amazon for a very minimal cost.  Pro Tip – get someone to help you install the faux wallpaper to ensure a professional look.  The best part is it’s super easy to remove, so you can change up the vibe anytime!

ABOUT Salons by JC

In 1997, Jack Griffey and Cecil Miller began their journey to transform the beauty industry one salon suite at a time. Like most young entrepreneurs, they started out with a big idea but had to learn how to start and run a business from scratch. After much perseverance and hard work, one year later, they opened Salons by JC in Dallas, Texas in 1998, welcoming beauty and wellness specialists who were ready to break free from the traditional salon model. The company has since moved its headquarters from Dallas to San Antonio, where it continues to grow through franchising. Today, Salons by JC has nearly 100 locations in 26 states and Canada and are looking to develop of 200 over the next several years.
