Meet Gail

Before working for Salons by JC, Gail worked as an assistant general manager of a large day spa in Charlotte for 26 years.  In this position she trained staff, handled customer service issues, and made sure goals were always attained. This experience was perfect for her career transition in 2015. “The day spa where I worked was sold, and then closed in December 2013,” Gail shares. “I took some time off to relax and figure out my next move. After a lot of thought and prayer, I was led to Salons by JC.”

Gail went to the site of the under-construction Salons by JC Carmel Park and called the number left on the window for information about the new location.  After speaking to the owner, Luis Moreno, she found out he wasn’t ready to hire anyone.  Gail remained positive and insistent, “I told Luis about my background and how I would love the opportunity to work with him.  I sent him my resume and a few days later I had an interview. I was hired that day and my journey began.”

Happiness is Having Great Coworkers

Her experience working at Salons by JC Carmel Park has been nothing short of wonderful. “Luis and I share a lot of the same values and have a great sense of urgency when it comes to taking care of our salon suite owners and guests,” Gail says.

What Gail loves most about working at her location is the positive environment.  Everyone is upbeat, especially the salon suite owners and their clientele.

“I have established a great rapport with our elderly clientele and they appreciate the special attention they receive. We are a salon family and go the extra mile to help each other in times of happiness or sadness.”

Celebrating Holidays With Salon Suite Owners

When one of their own needed assistance after being diagnosed with breast cancer, they came together as one.  “We started a fundraiser to assist her with medical expenses,” Gail shares.  Through the generosity of fellow salon suite owners and beauty supply representatives who donated supplies, they were able to raise $4,500 for the family.

Salons by JC Carmel Park has given back to the community by donating to the Susan G. Komen Foundation, American Heart Association, and Blessings in the Storm.  They have also donated their time to work on houses for Habitat for Humanity. “We truly have a caring community of salon suite owners.”

A life lived for others is a life worthwhile

Gail enjoys motivating salon suite owners to aim higher and fulfill their dreams through positive encouragement. “I love helping salon suite owners set and attain daily, weekly, monthly goals.”

“Whether it is assisting my salon suite owners with a special need or enjoying one of our events, they depend on me to be there for them. It is my privilege and purpose to help them be successful”, Gail shares.

She emphasizes that her main priority as a concierge is to make everyone who steps into Salons by JC  welcome. Her time is completely devoted to her salon suite owners and their clients to make sure everyone’s experience is exceptional.  “When a person walks in, I greet them and make sure they get to their designated suite.  Our salon culture is one of nurturing and caring, and our reward is a happy client, which is our sole purpose,” Gail says.
