ANNOUNCEMENTS

In late 2018, we added two new franchisees:
Urjeet Patel – Orlando, FL
John and Susan Roberts – Dallas, TX

We currently have 93 locations open and six under contract to open by the end of summer:

  • Scher in Miami
  • Long in Miami
  • Kokku in Minneapolis
  • Bennett in Huntersville
  • Simek in Minneapolis
  • Burgtorf in Austin

In addition, we have nine more locations at final lease that should open in 2019.


OPERATION INITIATIVES

Salons by JC Google Share Drive
As a reminder, each of you was provided access to the Salons by JC Google Share Drive. This is where you will find all operations, concierge and marketing materials. If you still have not accessed the Google Drive, email crystal@salonsbyjc.com so she can resend the link.

Monthly Concierge Training Webinars
Jo-Lynn is conducting monthly concierge training webinars on the second Wednesday of every month at 11 a.m. CST. This is for new concierges, or if you’d like your current concierge to get a little refresher. In addition, Jo-Lynn is always available for any questions you or your concierge may have. She can be reached at jgreenman@salonsbyjc.com.

Tour folders and inserts available
We have tour folders and inserts in stock for you to order. You can order 100 folders and inserts for $150 plus shipping costs. We have a limited supply on hand. Email crystal@salonsbyjc.com with your desired quantity.

Ring Lights
If you pre-ordered ring lights, you should have received them by now. If not, please contact Crystal so we can track them down for you.

Ring Light
We took advantage of the opportunity and ordered extra ring lights for those of you who didn’t want to order such a large amount in the first round. You can order ring lights from crystal@salonsbyjc.com in quantities of 20 for $12 each plus shipping. This is a great price considering they are branded.

Empowering You
We want to make sure your suite owners are aware of all of the great Empowering You programs and training events. If you haven’t yet, email analissa@salonsbyjc.com so she can add your suite owner’s email to our Empowering You email list. We work hard to ensure that effective and timely communication is going out to all.

System Occupancy
Overall occupancy across all franchise locations continues an upward trend. The chart below provides occupancy levels month over month for 2018.

Overall leads and tours for 2018 are posted in the chart below. 2018 and 2017 were similar in that best months for lead flow were Jan-May. It’s clear that that is when our advertising dollars and tours are most effective. We can see that in the occupancy jumps as well as in lead flow.


EDUCATION/TRAINING

2019 promises a robust schedule for business training events. We kick it off in early March in Charlotte and finish the year in Miami. We really need your support to make sure your suite owners are aware of the great opportunities to increase their business skills. This is a great value to them and to your retention efforts. MARKETING UPDATES

Zion & Zion
Steve, Jo-Lynn and Drew met with Zion & Zion on January 21st to review the brand research study conducted over the past two months with franchisees, suite owners, consumers and Salons by JC corporate.

Next steps include the following deliverables:

  • Present Brand Story, Mood Board, Website Research and Wireframes – 2/6
  • Present Homepage Design Mockup and Content Outline – 2/26

Once we have a completed Brand Story, Zion & Zion will help present the research, brand story, etc. to the entire system. Stay tuned…

Social Media, Microsite & Creative App Training
Important reminder that we can provide your concierge and/or you with social media, Microsite and Creative App training. We also have our in-house marketing team that is ready to assist you with any of your advertising needs. Simply reach out to marlene@salonsbyjc.com to schedule a one-on-one training class or overall marketing assessment.

Email Drip Campaigns
Make sure that you send our marketing team your emails from leads and tours that did not sign a lease. We have a brand wide drip email campaign and we can add these emails to this list.
If you would like a personalized e-blast campaign, our in-house team can work with you on launching that for you. Email marlene@salonsbyjc.com with your emails to get them on the drip campaign and also about how you can get your localized email campaign.

Hello Gorgeous! Update from Kim Becker, Co-Founder
I am so grateful for the partnership between Hello Gorgeous! and Salons by JC. Our industry is evolving and salon suites are becoming the trend. I am happy that we are able to offer your suite owners a chance to participate in something that allows them to give back using their talents. There is something to be said for being a part of the 3-hour transformation that takes place on a woman battling cancer—the excitement on her face as she is escorted from suite to suite in anticipation of what service she will receive next, all the while feeling the love and support of the suite owners who greet her with a big Hello Gorgeous! and a warm smile. The before-and-after pictures make my heart smile. What a wonderful experience you are offering a woman who is in the battle of her life, and a great way to stand out as a leader in your community that is giving back. I look forward to more and more of these partnerships within the Salons by JC family. Together, we are making the world a more Gorgeous! place.
