Texas Lawmaker: House Bill 1705 Will No Longer Abolish Cosmetology License Requirement

Salons by JC applauds Texas lawmakers for ensuring that cosmetologists must have a license to practice in the beauty industry.  The proposal to abolish cosmetology licensing as a requirement to practice in Texas was removed from HR Bill 1705. Our independent salon suite owners care about the safety of each of their clients. This proposal would have clearly put that in jeopardy. An adjustment of any kind to abolish the need for a cosmetology license would cause severe shock waves throughout the industry.
