Meet Luis Moreno

Moreno was born in Bogota, Columbia and completed the majority of his schooling in the U.S.  He attended the Cornell University School of Engineering where he earned his BS and MEng.  “My career started in management consulting where I lead management projects as a principal consultant”, stated Moreno.  Eager to make a change in lifestyle, Moreno accepted an internal global consulting position. “I moved through positions with increased responsibility and scope which included assignments through the Americas, Europe, India, China, and New Zealand.”

Welcome to Salons by JC

Looking for a career change that would allow him to spend more time with family, Luis looked into franchising. This is where he was introduced to the Salons by JC business model.  “The business model is simple yet robust,” stated Moreno. “This concept has unique differentiators, that in my opinion, make it the superior salon suite franchise”.   After meeting Jack, Cecil and Steve on discovery day, he knew that this was the franchise he wanted to be a part of and grow with.  “Luis is just a good man, you feel better about life being around people of Luis’ quality”, states Salons by JC President, Steve Griffey.

The Perks of Being a Salons by JC Franchisee

“I look forward to spending time at my salons and seeing our talented people making a living in our beautiful and modern location”, states Moreno.  Taking the time to know each salon suite owner is one of Moreno’s favorite things about his franchise. “We have great diversity in backgrounds and they all share the same great love for their craft”.  This positive attitude makes Moreno a favorite among his salon suite owners. That energy spilled over to his two locations and won Moreno recognition for Highest Occupancy for both his Carmel Park and South Park locations.  Salons by JC President, Steve Griffey added, “Luis’ commitment to being a resource to his suite owners and helping them improve their quality of life is something we should all aspire to achieve personally and professionally.  That commitment is evidenced in the success he’s had in both of his locations.  I’m certain his family and the suite owners he supports will celebrate this well-deserved award with him”.  Indeed they did, surprising Luis with not one, but two celebratory parties at each location.

The Importance of Community

Luis and his wife Carey have two girls, Eliza and Eva.  In his spare time, he enjoys going on fun trips with his family.  Moreno is also very active in his community. “I am involved with the F3 Nation which is a network of free peer lead workouts for men.  F3’s mission is to plant, grow and serve local groups to invigorate male community leadership”, states Moreno.  “My life priorities are spending time with my family, making a better version of myself through my church and F3, and growing, enjoying, and serving my Salons by JC family”.

Still reeling in the success of coming home with 3 awards from our conference, Moreno and his team quickly got to work to host a SalonCentric Airstream event.  The “Glam on the Go” Airstream will make an appearance on Friday, November 16th at the Carmel Park location that has recently been expanded.   With a positive attitude and gratitude for all his rewards, Salons by JC is proud to have such a dedicated franchisee that is always willing to assist his community in any aspect when needed.  Luis’ dynamic makes him a superior choice as our 2018 Franchisee of the Year. Congratulations, once again and we wish you and your locations the best in 2019.

ABOUT Salons by JC

In 1997, Jack Griffey and Cecil Miller began their journey to transform the beauty industry one salon suite at a time. Like most young entrepreneurs, they started out with a big idea but had to learn how to start and run a business from scratch. After much perseverance and hard work, one year later, they opened Salons by JC in Dallas, Texas in 1998, welcoming beauty and wellness specialists who were ready to break free from the traditional salon model. The company has since moved its headquarters from Dallas to San Antonio, where it continues to grow through franchising. Today, Salons by JC has nearly 100 locations in 26 states and Canada and are looking to develop of 200 over the next several years.
