About Us
Salons by JC was founded in 1997 by Jack Griffey & Cecil Miller with a vision to transform the beauty and wellness industry. Recognizing the challenges professionals faced in traditional salon settings—such as high overhead costs, limited flexibility, and lack of control over their businesses—they pioneered a groundbreaking concept: leasing private, fully equipped suites to beauty and wellness professionals.
Jack and Cecil opened the first Salons by JC location in Dallas, Texas, with a commitment to ongoing premium service via a full-time Concierge and empowering salon owners to start their businesses. Although Jack is now semi-retired, and Cecil passed away in 2020, we continue the family-owned legacy with a new generation of leadership from Jack’s son, Steve Griffey, who is President, and Cecil’s son, Austin Miller, who is VP of Corporate Operations. Today, Salons by JC has over 170 locations nationwide, serves 7,000+ salon owners, and continues to grow every day!
