In honor of International Women’s Day, we are thrilled to share the story of a fabulously talented salon suite owner out of Salons by JC Mobile – Kaliesha Sanders.
With a supreme passion for hair, beauty, and all things glam, Kaliesha Sanders knew from a young age she wanted to pursue a career in the beauty industry.
Born and raised in Mobile, AL, Kaliesha has been in the beauty industry since 2009 and has worked in various salons since 2011.
Since completing her Cosmetology trade training at the Bryant Center Vocational School her Senior year in high school, Kaliesha was inspired to begin what would be a fruitful career as a beauty professional.
Passion Starts Young
“I just knew I wanted a career that would make me happy; something that didn’t have as many limits as most professions,” Kaliesha shares about her early start in the industry.
While completing her high school education, she began to do her peers’ hair where she “fell in love wholeheartedly” with transforming their style and looks.
After graduating, Kaliesha had big dreams of attending a prestigious fashion program in Fort Lauderdale, FL. Her family ties kept her close to Alabama.
“My mom stated the distance from would be a problem, she also had me look up salaries and told me to be realistic about what I wanted to do for a living.”
From there, she chose to pursue a full education in Cosmetology from Bishop State Community College, an experience she looks back on with pride.
“Ther was never a dull moment at beauty school. There were times when things got challenging, but I never wanted to quit.” Kaliesha quickly realized she was where she was meant to be, stating “Not only did I realize how much I love people, but I found joy in making them look and feel amazing.”
Growing to Salons by JC Mobile
Once Kaliesha was in the beauty industry workforce, she experienced tremendous growth fast and established her own branding. When choosing a name for her brand, she knew she wanted to incorporate two things she loves: gold and anything that shines.
“I branded my business in 2015 naming it The Diamond Process, where you discover the jewel in you,” she shares. “The Diamond Process specializes in refinement; no transformation is too big or too small and anything is possible.”
Kaliesha was working in local open floor salons but was in need of something more for her Diamond Process. “I worked in salons where I didn’t have creative freedom, freedom with business hours because I love to work all day and night – I needed freedom and control,” she stated.
It was then that Kaliesha found Salons by JC Mobile in 2016, where she established her own salon. “My career changed for the better when I chose to come to Salons by JC.” Kaliesha was able to create her own salon, her hours, and her clients loved the space.
“Everything here is perfect. Everyone is friendly, the environment is safe and luxurious. I couldn’t ask for anything more,” she says of Salons by JC Mobile.
Celebrity Success and Master Classes
Since joining Salons by JC in 2016, Kaliesha has been able to pursue significant opportunities in the beauty industry and now specializes in hair, makeup, and wig creation in her spare time.
She is a part of the prestigious Legion of GLAM, an organization put together by celebrity wig maker, Terrence Davidson, whose distinguished clientele include rapper Nicki Minaj, Patti Labelle, Mary J. Blige, and more.
In August 2018, she joined Terrence Davidson at the Bronner Brothers International Hairshow for a hair showcase.
Another highlight of her career was doing behind the scenes work on famed rapper Snoop Dogg’s stageplay, Redemption of a Dogg.
As she grows even more in the beauty industry, Kaliesha has also had the opportunity to host two exclusive makeup classes, Beginners Brunch/Eyeshadow and Contour Luncheon in April 2018 and Shine Session 101 last October.
Next up in her bustling career, Kaiesha will be traveling with The Legion of GLAM showcasing their hair talents and teaching at beauty schools across the country.
Kaliesha Sanders has proven herself to be a passionate, dominant salon suite owner at Salons by JC Mobile for the past 3 years, and is sure to bring even more success to her already fruitful career in the beauty industry.
