Marvelous Miriah

Miriah always had a strong desire to help other people. She began her academic studies with the intention of making a career in the healthcare industry. Once Miriah began working, her focus shifted towards customer service where she felt there would be more opportunity for her.

“I moved to the heart of the mini-apple in 2015,” Miriah shares. “I found a job as a salon receptionist on at a high-end salon. Growing up with two Aunts who were master stylists in very high-end salons placed me in familiar territory within the beauty industry.”

A year into her salon receptionist position, Miriah’s passion for the beauty industry intensified. A few of her colleagues suggested she look into a new salon suite concept called Salons by JC.  After learning more about the idea she realized she could be of value to the suite owners that operate there.  She put in her application for the available Concierge position.

Everyday She’s Hustlin’

Miriah leads the charge by balancing two Salons by JC locations. She has taken one location to capacity and looks towards reaching the same goal with the second location.

“Balancing two locations has been exactly what I was looking for!” Miriah exclaimed with excitement. “This opportunity has given me the challenge and growth I desired. I was initially hired to oversee Southdale Square. In November 2016, I only had to juggle 7 suite owners. Easy Peasy! I started managing the “behind the scenes” of both locations in June of 2017 and two years later 7 Suite Owners turned into 70.”

Managing two Salons by JC locations poses many challenges.  Miriah maintains a consistent game plan to keep both locations running smoothly. “I’ve implemented identical systems at both locations,” Miriah states. “This helps us run things the same way while still letting us add a bit of our own character to each location”.  A second Concierge was recently added to the mix, Imani.  “We began rotating locations weekly, this has helped Imani and I understand how each salon functions and also familiarize ourselves with the suite owners,” Miriah shares.

Miriah’s experience as a Concierge at Salons by JC has exceeded all of her expectations.  She is grateful for all the adventures and opportunities that this position has provided her. Hosting grand openings and planning celebrations – to attending marketing and social media classes to enhance her abilities.   She loves every minute of this chapter in her life including being invited on a trip to Chicago for the Empowering You Workshop.

“The secret to my success has been building personal relationships with the suite owners and their guests,” Miriah says. “Adding our personal touch and a familiar face at the front desk, makes everyone feel right at home.”

“When you walk in, you are always greeted with a smile and excellent customer service,” Miriah adds. “I’ve come to build strong relationships with the suite owners, I can be more detailed with guests and their needs when guiding them. Your experience at our locations is warm and inviting.  I truly believe that attracts great referrals and reviews which helps the business grow exponentially for us and our beauty professionals.”

As a concierge, Miriah ensures every suite owner is set up for success by equipping them with the right tools. “I want to help them be as successful as I know they can be. I believe if I go above and beyond to help them and provide the tools they need they can stay focused on what’s important. That’s what being a concierge is all about. We are not just a smile at the front door. Along with helping them take that first step in suite ownership, we also partner with each professional to assist with their future goals to success.”

On top of all of the help and success she has brought to our Salons by JC locations, Miriah has her own goals in mind for 2019.  “My number one goal as a concierge is to see Salons by JC grow fiscally and broader in scope. Along with maintaining full capacity in Minnetonka, I am looking forward to helping April expand and open a third location!”

Miriah’s work ethic encompasses the distinction that is the Salons by JC Concierge.  As salon owner April Simek looks to open her third location, we know that under the managerial eye of Miriah, this location will find fast success.
