A San Antonio-based salon franchise is expanding its presence in Charlotte.
Salons by JC plans a second location in SouthPark at 6832 Morrison Blvd.
Plans call for that 7,500-square-foot space to be transformed into a high-end salon and spa with 37 individual suites. It is targeting a September opening.
Each will be equipped with mirrors, shampoo bowls, chairs, cabinets for towels, hood dryers and roll carts for other tools and supplies. The average suite size is 10 feet by 12 feet — and can be customized.
The salon has a full-time concierge to welcome clients and oversee day-to-day issues.
“The inside of the salon is like a small village,” says Luis Moreno, who owns the franchise.
The Concept
The Salons by JC concept allows the franchise to lease space to independent beauty professionals. Its salon suites can accommodate a variety of beauty and wellness services include hair coloring and styling, skin care, nail care, cosmetics, and massage therapy.
The concept allows professionals to set their own hours, keep 100% of revenue they generate and develop their own salon, Moreno says.
